Be The Best of Whatever You Are



If you can't be a pine on top of the hill

Be a scrub in the valley - but be

The best little scrub at the side of the rill.

Be a bush if you can't be a tree.


If you can't be a bush be a bit of grass

Some highway to happier make.

If you can't be a muskie then just be a bass,

But the liveliest bass in the lake.


We can't all be captains, we've got to have crew,

There's something for all of us here.

There's big work to do and there's lesser work too

And the task we must do is near.


If you can't be a highway, then just be a trail.

If you can't be the sun be a star.

It isn't by size that you win or you fail.

Be the best of whatever you are.

Dare To Be

When a new day begins, Dare to smile gratefully. When there is darkness, Dare to be the first to shine a light. When there is injustice, Dare to be the first to condemn it. When something seems difficult, Dare to do it anyway. When life seems to beat you down, Dare to fight back. When there seems to be no hope, Dare to find some. When you're feeling tired, Dare to keep going. When times are tough, Dare to be tougher. When love hurts you, Dare to love again. When someone is hurting, Dare to help them heal. When another is lost, Dare to help them find the way. When a friend falls, Dare to be the first to extend a hand. When you cross paths with another, Dare to make them smile. Take A Chance

If you never take a chance You may never get to dance. Life is full of ups and downs Bringing smiles and some tears. But if you always play it safe You may find out too late That life is meant to be Lived each day happily.
